We crafted this trip just for adventurers seeking the ultimate Himalayan experience. This concentrated itinerary begins in Pokhara, Nepal's adventure city, before traversing some of the most mind blowing roads in the famous Mustang Valley. With six full days of riding we explore a new network of roads and trails known only to locals and our expert guides. To keep the adventure authentic we will stay in the best lodges and hotels in the region as we explore ancient Buddhist Monasteries and villages. This is big adventure in an action packed week.

The walled city of Lo Manthang was first built 800 years ago as a distang outpost and indipendant Tibetan Kingdom. For centuries it was all but lost to time and forbidden to outside visitors. Today it is still one of the most isolated and protected places in Asia making it the perfect destinations for ambitious explorers seeking the most authentic cultural experiences. Join us this spring as we travel back in time, through the Himalayas, to this enchanted land perched on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau. The forbidden kingdom of Lo Manthang is situated on the northern slope of the Himalayas on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau. It is one of the least visited places in the world. Rugged and remote, it is a land forgotten by time where Tibetan culture looks much as it has for a thousand years. On this trip we cross through the Himalayas to the edge of Tibet. The landscapes and cultural experiences feel like pages torn from National Geographic. This is true exploration at its best.

It’s an expedition no one has ever attempted. In November of this year a team of riders will be the first to span the length of the Himalayas of Nepal by way of the highest network of roads and trails. It’s the type of bold expedition Far Xplorer is known for. For one thousand miles this team will pass through some of the most rugged and untamed terrain in South Asia. This is true exploration at its very best. Although this team is full, look for a repeat trip in 2026.

In November of 2025, a team of riders will become the first ever to traverse the Himalayas of Nepal by way of the highest continuous network of roads and trails. This is the type of endeavor only Far Xplorer can tackle due in large part to our exclusive style of expeditionary travel. Of the few motorcycle touring companies in Nepal, none offer the exclusive routes we have pioneered over the years. Simply put, we go where no other outfitter can. It helps us create the most authentic travel experience to places few outsiders get to see.

It’s not uncommon for companies in Nepal to book groups as large as 15-20 riders. We never exceed 9, with 8 our standard size.

We don’t just ride, we travel. This means we spend ample time off the bikes to explore Nepal. An average ride day is between 4-6 hours.

We don’t like to use the word, “tour.” We create travel experiences with enough latitude to let the adventure unfold organically. That means each trip is unique and reflects the chemistry of each small group. We’re also the most innovative outfitters in Nepal and always folding in new routes and fresh cultural experiences.
Royal Enfield Motorcycles
When the first roads were scratched into the world’s biggest mountains the pioneering machines to traverse them were Royal Enfield motorcycles. Stalwarts of Himalayan travel, we find they are perfect for our type of travel. Simple and easily repaired in the field, they have served us well and we wouldn’t use anything else.
How is the riding?
We put the adventure back in adventure riding. Our routes don’t have a single dull mile with something exciting around every turn. From confident novice to seasoned pro, we have routes for all abilities. There is nothing quite like a ride through Nepal.
The Far Xplorer Expedition Basecamp
Private sleeping tents, a full staff of cooks and porters, multi-course meals served in a dining tent, hot showers, and a proper flushing restroom. We travel in true expedition style.
